PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide systems and methods which have little discomfort and pain for a user when extracting a body fluid sample (for example, a interstitial fluid sample) and monitoring an analyte therein.

SOLUTION: Some systems (10) have a penetration member (22) which penetrates and resides in a target site of a skin layer of a user, and then extracts a fluid sample therefrom. This system further has a pressure ring (28) which puts pressure on the skin layer of the user near the target site. The system is composed so that the pressure ring can put pressure in an oscillating way. In certain methods, a skin is penetrated and pressure is put on the skin in an oscillating way.
