APPARATUS AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING POWER CONVERTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus of controlling a power converter which can maintain target conversion efficiency even during normal operation.

SOLUTION: A conversion efficiency optimizing circuit 19 obtains a PWM carrier frequency so that the power conversion efficiency of a DC power in a power converter 13 and an AC power may become a conversion efficiency target value, and generates the carrier of the PWM carrier frequency obtained in the conversion efficiency optimizing circuit 19 from a carrier generating circuit 20. A PWM modulation circuit 21 modulates a reference signal wave set so that the output of the power converter 13 may become an output target value based on the carrier generated from the carrier generating circuit 20. A drive circuit 22 controls to drive the switching element of the power converter 13 based on the output signal obtained by the PWM modulation circuit 21.
