<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video signal receiving apparatus for processing a signal from a device with an output HDMI connector in compliance with the HDMI standard and the response performance of which at HDMI selection is particularly enhanced. <P>SOLUTION: The video signal receiving apparatus includes: a frequency discrimination unit (31A) for discriminating the frequency of a synchronizing signal of an input analog video signal; and a video signal processing circuit (31B) for determining scanning line conversion process and an angle of view and executing the process according to a discrimination result. An HDMI signal processing section 20 discriminates the attribute of a video signal from a digital signal received via the HDMI connector, and when determining non-operation of the frequency discrimination unit on the basis of contents of discriminated attribute information, a control means (23) receiving the result of discrimination determines at least one of contents of the scanning line conversion processing in the video signal processing circuit and contents of the angle of view adjustment in place of the frequency discrimination unit. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
