PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve visibility in the display of a display body in a transmissive region, and to improve the flexibility of wiring in the transmissive region. SOLUTION: The liquid crystal display is provided with a pair of substrates 9, a transmissive cell 13 partitioned with the pair of substrates 9 and a first sealing material 11 and a display cell 14 partitioned by the pair of substrates 9 and a second sealing material 12. A transparent medium is sealed in the transmissive cell 13, a liquid crystal 15 is sealed in the display cell 14, an opposite to the viewer-side polarizing plate 21 is disposed on the opposite to the viewer-side of the display cell 14, a viewer-side polarizing plate 20 is disposed on the viewer-side of the transmissive cell 13 and the display cell 14 so as to cover both cells, and the display body 3 disposed on the opposite to the viewer-side of the transmissive cell 13 is made visible via the transmissive cell 13.
