PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a panel driving device with which required space inside the device main body is saved, while maintaining panel thinning. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with a panel 100 having a display device 101 and a driving mechanism 200 built in at the backside of the display device 101 in the panel 100, which displaces the panel 100. The driving mechanism 200 comprises a motor 210; a clutch 220; a multiple stage gear 230; an angle detecting section 240; a rotation edge detecting section 250; and a linking gear section 260. A sliding gear 222 of the clutch 220, a large-diameter part 231 of the multiple stage gear 230, a gear section 241 and a disk section 242 of the angle-detecting section 240 and a gear section 251 of the rotation edge detecting section 250 are arranged so that all the plane faces is in a direction parallel to the display device 101 (a shaft is orthogonal to the display device 101).
