摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain good rolling over the entire length of a material to be rolled while maintaining tension between respective rolling mills at a proper value by always keeping the ratio of rolling torques of the drive motors of respective rolling mills constant. <P>SOLUTION: The rolling torque of each drive motor which is detected just after the nose part of the material to be rolled is passed through the fourth rolling mill is stored as torques TT1-TT4. All the torques TT1-TT4 are summed up and the target torque balances TB1-TB3 of the first to the third rolling mills are stored. The present torque PT1-PT4 of each rolling mill is detected every prescribed period, also all the present torques PT1-PT4 are summed up and the present torque balances PB1-PB3 of the first to the third rolling mills are set. The speeds of a first to the third drive motors are adjusted so that the present torque balances PB1-PB3 and the target torque balances TB1-TB3 are matched. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p>
