PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water treatment apparatus constituted so as to sharply reduce the amount of air by intermittently diffusing air from an air diffusion pipe to reduce a maintenance control cost and capable of forming a turbulent flow in raw water (water to be treated) to effectively wash a membrane separator.

SOLUTION: In the water treatment apparatus composed of a raw water introducing means 1, a membrane separation tank 3 equipped with a plurality of membrane separators 5 and a plurality of air diffusion pipes 11, an air feeding equipment 16 for feeding air into the air diffusion pipes 11 and a treated water transfer pipe 7 connected to the membrane separators 5 to transfer treated water 4, the air feeding equipment 16 is equipped with an air changeover device 13.
