<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a dispersion of an operating distance when notifying a user or limiting use of a mobile terminal device if the mobile terminal device gets away from a radio communication apparatus that performs short-range radio communication therewith. <P>SOLUTION: A mobile terminal 10 monitors a signal level of a short-range radio signal from a radio communication apparatus 20, and when the signal level is too reduced to maintain a connection status of the short-range radio communication, use of a predetermined function of the mobile terminal 10 is limited. When the short-range radio communication is not used longer than a predetermined time, a short-range radio communication function of the mobile terminal 10 and the radio communication apparatus 20 are shifted to a specific operating mode. In the specific operating mode, when the mobile terminal 10 monitors the signal level of a radio signal from the radio communication apparatus 20, a response speed of change detection of the signal level is decelerated.
