METHOD FOR PRODUCING TETRAKIS(HYDROXYPHENYL)ALKANE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a tetrakis(4-hydroxyphenyl)alkane in high purity and yield efficiently from a phenol and dialdehyde by using an acid catalyst having little corrosion property, and also a method for producing the tetrakis(4-hydroxyphenyl) alkane in high selectivity by inhibiting the production of structural isomers and reducing waste materials.

SOLUTION: This method for producing the tetrakis(4-hydroxyphenyl)alkane comprises a reaction process of performing the heterogeneous reaction of the phenol and dialdehyde in the presence of a phosphoric acid.
