<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: when a three-dimensional surface is formed in a lattice-like muntin assembly, complicated procedures of arranging a member for forming a curved surface, on a stile or the like, cutting away a notch in a peripheral surface of the member, and assembling muntin elements, must be carried out. <P>SOLUTION: There is provided a universal muntin which is a member having the plurality of muntin elements fitted thereto. In the universal muntin, at least a single surface of a thin-width band member is formed of a plurality of holding portions and fitting portions for the muntin elements, which are each defined between the mutually adjacent holding portions with a thin base left therebetween. According to a muntin assembling method, the universal muntins are each formed such that at least the single surface of the thin-width band member has the holding portions and the fitting portions each defined between the mutually adjacent holding portions with the thin base left therebetween, and the universal muntins thus formed are arranged across an interval, followed by extending the muntin elements over the fitting portions and then fixing the former to the latter. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
