<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water shut off body for cable joint which can be applied easily to the joint of a power cable even in a limited space of manhole, or the like, and even after the cable is connected, and to provide its securing structure. <P>SOLUTION: In the water shut off body 20 covering a cable joint 6 connecting power cables 4 each other and blocking intrusion of moisture into the cable joint 6 from the outside, the water shut off body 20 comprises an adhesive layer 21 of adhesive material having one side adhering to the outer circumferential surface of the cable joint 6, a water shut off layer 22 provided on the other side of the adhesive layer 21 in order to block intrusion of moisture, and a layer 23 of an elastic member provided on the side of the water shut off layer 22 opposite to the adhesive layer 21. The water shut off body 20 has a flat sheet-like profile as a whole, and the entirety of the water shut off body 20 is wound over the cable joint 6. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
