PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grinding method of a thermoplastic resin-containing material capable of well grinding the thermoplastic resin-containing material containing a polylactic acid resin or a PET resin up to a fine particle size, and a grinding apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: This grinding method of the thermoplastic resin-containing material has a heating process (heating part 1) for heating the thermoplastic resin-containing material containing a thermoplastic resin as a main component to raise the temperature thereof to the glass transition point of the resin or above and a grinding and classifying process (grinding and classifying part 2) for applying impact force to the thermoplastic resin-containing material raised in temperature in the heating process to grind the thermoplastic resin-containing material while cooling the thermoplastic resin-containing material from the surface thereof and classifying the ground matter.
