PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information processing apparatus with an economically advantageous configuration realizing a video recording and reproduction function of an externally received video signal and a function of displaying the externally received video signal with high image quality without causing a time lag. SOLUTION: In a scaler unit 105, paths P1 and P2 which display-outputs a video signal received at an external video signal input terminal T1 from a graphics controller 104 via a RGB / YUV conversion section 201 and performs video-recording and monitor display and in which the time lag is caused, and a path 3 without the time lag which directly gives the video signal received at the external video signal input terminal T1 to the scaler unit 105 for display-output, are switched by operating a display changeover switch S2.
