PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus of an inkjet system in which ink overflowing from an end of a recording medium surely enters an ink receptacle. SOLUTION: Concave ink receptacles 30cHP, 30cS and 30cL for receiving the ink which is discharged from a printing head 44 and overflows from a rolled sheet P are formed at a platen 30. White lines 31cHP, 31cS and 31cL for detecting positions of the ink receptacles 30cHP, 30cS and 30cL are formed in the vicinity of the ink receptacles 30cHP, 30cS and 30cL, respectively. The white line 31cHP is formed further to the side of one end part 11 of an apparatus body (position not hidden by the rolled sheet P placed on the platen 30) than the ink receptacle 30cHP. The white line 31cS is formed further to the side of the other end part (end part opposite to the one end part 11) of the apparatus body than the ink receptacle 30cS.
