PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an input device capable of reducing power consumption. SOLUTION: A start part 3 is joined with an input part 2 under the input part 2. When a surface sheet 28 is depressed by a finger F or the like, the depression force is transmitted into the input device 1 and an upper electrode 31b and a lower electrode 32b are brought into contact with each other and mutually conducted. A depression signal (interruption signal) generated by the mutual conduction is outputted by interrupting a CPU. The CPU starts the input part 2 on the basis of the interruption signal, and then the coordinate position of the finger F or the like is detected by a sensor circuit in the input part 2. Thereby in a state that the finger F or the like does not depress the surface sheet 28, the input part 2 is not started and scanning operation or the like is not performed by the sensor circuit.
