PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide electrophoretic coloring particles which are properly dispersed in an insulating liquid with a low drive voltage, and further which exhibit an image-retaining memory properties due to excellent coagulation of the particles with each other, when the voltage is turned off. SOLUTION: The electrophoretic coloring particles are to be subjected to electrophoresis in the insulating liquid, and are characterized by comprising base material particles coated with a copolymer of a monomer, having a fluoro group on the terminal and a monomer having a≥8C alkyl group on the terminal and having≤-50 mVζpotential value for the electrophoretic coloring particles.
