PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor having high wear and scuffing resistances and high mechanical strength, ensuring high durability because cracks and film peelings are less liable to occur particularly in a photosensitive layer, having proper resistance to electrical characteristics due to charging and proper electrical characteristics, and acquiring good evaluation of image deletion, and to provide an image forming method, an image forming apparatus and a process cartridge for the image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The photoreceptor comprises a conductive support and a photosensitive layer and is used in an image forming apparatus, in which the photoreceptor is charged by a charging member by applying voltage prepared by superposing alternating voltage on direct voltage to the charging member and in which the charging member is disposed in contact with the photoreceptor, wherein the photosensitive layer of the photoreceptor has configuration in which a charge generating layer; a charge transport layer and a crosslinked charge transport layer are sequentially stacked from the conductive support side, and the crosslinked charge transport layer is formed, by curing at least a trifunctional or higher functionality radical polymerizable monomer having no charge transport structure and a monofunctional radical polymerizable compound having a charge transport structure.
