PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous pressure sensitive adhesive composition having high adhesive force to a polyolefinic adherend and excellent stickability to curved surface, and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The invention relates to the aqueous pressure sensitive adhesive composition comprising (A) an aqueous dispersion of a resin composition obtained by polymerizing, in an aqueous medium, ethylenic unsaturated monomers comprising (a) 70-87.5 wt% of acrylate with 4-14C alkyl group, (b) 10-15 wt.% of methacrylate with 1-2C alkyl group, (c) 2-6 wt.% of hydroxyalkyl (meth)acrylate and (d) 0.5-5 wt.% of a monomer having a carboxy group and (B) an aqueous dispersion of a resin composition obtained by polymerizing, in an aqueous medium, ethylenic unsaturated monomers comprising 55-95 wt.% of the above-mentioned monomer (a) and 0.5-5 wt.% of the above-mentioned monomer (d), wherein the wt ratio of the solid content of the dispersion of the resin composition (A)/(B) is 5/95-30/70.
