PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding device capable of preventing occurrence of a line due to swelling of paper in both side parts of a paper feeding roller when separating and feeding paper, preventing levitation of both end sides of the paper, and conveying the paper smoothly after that. SOLUTION: This paper feeding device is provided with the paper feeding roller 7 capable of separating/feeding papers by a friction separation pad system. A friction separation pad 8 is supported on a pad base 8a so that it comes into contact with the paper feeding roller 7 elastically. A guide face 10a of a paper guide member 10 is a curved face for guiding the paper P delivered from the paper feeding roller 7 upward. It is formed like steps on an anti-paper feeding roller side from an elastic contact face of the friction separation pad 8 and the paper feeding roller 7.
