Disclosed is a solenoid-operated valve (10) which is capable of enhancing the responsivety of a device while an electric current applied thereto is in a low current range, and which is capable of preventing the device from being vibrated by the fluid pressure fluctuation while in a high current range. A spool (20) is received in a valve sleeve (19) for regulating the pressure of fluid. A plunger (18) is received in a stator (13) that has a core (15) provided with an annular projecting portion (31). A solenoid (17) magnetizes the stator (13) to attract the plunger (18) so as to move the plunger (18) into the annular projecting portion (31). The annular projecting portion (31) is formed with a tapered portion (32) and a thin cylindrical portion (33) projecting from the rear end of the tapered portion (32). A step (34) is formed on the outside of the annular projecting portion (31) between the tapered portion (32) and the thin cylindrical portion (33).
