<p>PURPOSE: To simplify reprocessing process of waste of clad, reduce waste amount and reduce the recovery loss of transuranium elements. CONSTITUTION: By decladding fuel rod of light water reactor spent fuel in decladding process 1, clad (Zircaloy) and oxide fuel are separated. The oxide fuel is reduced to metal uranium in a reduction process 2 for oxide fuel. The separated clad (Zircaloy) and transuranium elements and uranium adhering to the clad are solved in a solving process 5 to zirconium alloy. Next in a component control process 6, the concentration of uranium and transuranium element metal in the zirconium alloy is controlled. Finally in a molding process 7, metal fuel for fast reactor is molded. In this manner, the clad is recovered without wasting to drastically reduce waste amount, the processes are simplified by avoiding the process such as end plugging of the clad, secondary waste is eliminated and the transuranium elements and uranium adhering to the clad can be recovered without loss.</p> |
