The invention relates to a brake cable-connecting apparatus for a brake-actuating mechanism comprising a strut (11), an operating lever (12) and a cable for actuating brake shoes through pivoting of the lever. According to the invention, the brake cable-connecting apparatus comprises a resilient member (22) allowing the cable end to engage recesses (12g) of the lever and preventing the cable to escape such recesses (12g) without damage to the cable end, operating lever and other components, even during carry of a drum brake device.
