The pivot bearing assembly (10) for an operating component in an exhaust gas system has a defined surface section formed respectively on a bearing journal on its outer circumference and on the bearing face of a bearing point (26) and which comes to bear upon one another during the pivoting movement. One of the surface sections viewed in section at right angles to the pivot axis extends plane or with an outwards curve, while the other of the two surface sections extends with an outwards curve and which during a pivoting movement rolls on the other surface section.
