Rubber producing method using isopentenyl diphosphate isomerase from Hevea Brasiliensis

A nucleic acid (A) encoding an isopentyl diphosphate (IPP) isomerase from Hevea brasiliensishaving a sequence (I) of 234 amino acids, given in the specification, is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a nucleic acid having a sequence (II) of 1288 nucleotides, given in the specification; (2) an isolated nucleic acid that hybridizes to (A) or (1) under conditions represented by a wash stringency of 0.45 M NaCl, 0.04 M sodium citrate, and 0.1 % sodium dodecyl sulfate at 45[deg]C; (3) vectors comprising (A) or (1); (4) a transformed host comprising (3) which is capable of expressing the nucleic acid; (5) producing rubber in vitroor in vivocomprising transferring the nucleic acid molecule to a host cell to produce a transformed host cell and culturing the transformed host in an environment suitable for rubber production in vivoor in a medium for the production of IPP isomerase isolated from Hevea brasiliensis(IPIHb) useful in catalyzing the synthesis of rubber in vitro.
