<p>PURPOSE: A refrigerator is provided to improve utilization of space in a cooling compartment. CONSTITUTION: An ice making unit(10) includes an ice making tray(20) for ice making; and an ice storage body(30) storing ice made in the ice making tray. The ice making tray and the ice storage body are installed in a freezer compartment by an ice making machine main body(15). The ice making tray includes a frame member(21) having an approximately square exterior, and shaped as a closed loop with an upper opening and a lower opening; sliding ribs(22) protrusively formed on both of outer walls of the frame member and mounted on guiding blocks(11) of the ice making machine main body; a plurality of water storage members(23) placed within a circumference of the frame member, and having a plurality of ice making lattices formed by partitions formed at regular intervals; and rotating knobs(24) placed on a front area of the frame member correspondingly with the water storage members, respectively, to overturn the water storage members. The ice storage body is placed on a lower part of the ice making tray, and is formed as a square box with an open upper part.</p> |
