The proposed device for preliminarily checking the insulation resistance of a power line contains a measuring circuit with a measuring direct current source and elements that are designed for inserting the current source between the phase conductor of the line and the ground connection point, a unit for comparing current in the measuring circuit with the reference current, an amplifier, and an actuating relay with a coil that is inserted in the output circuit of the amplifier.
