TECHNIQUE FOR SURGICAL ACCESS TO BASE OF SKULL

The technique for the surgical access to the base of skull comprises the mobilization of the periosteum and the temporal muscle with its fascias according to the margins of trepanation window and the generation of the cuff for the plastics of the postoperative wound. Pterygonal access to the structures of anterior and middle cranial fossae is performed. The soft tissues are displaced generating periosteal cuff.
