The tyre (1), containing a radial carcass reinforcing layer (2) surmounted by a crown reinforcement (3) of at least two working layers (4, 5) with filaments crossing one another at an angle. The crown reinforcement incorporates an additional layer (7) with edges (7a, 7b) that extend axially beyond the working layers and in the form of radial reinforcing filaments. The edges of the additional layer are located radially above the edges of the outermost working layer. |
