Coating composition (A) for patina effect comprises (100 parts in weight) at least: a binder (I) (10-30) (vinylic, acrylic, methacrylic and polyurethane homopolymers and copolymers); a flatting agent (II) (2-7.5); a thickening agent (III) (0.01-1); an organic or mineral pigment (IV) (0.00005-0.2); and an additive (V) (0-0.75) (organic solvents and tensio-active agents) on dispersion in water. Coating composition (A) for patina effect comprises (100 parts in weight) at least: a binder (I) (10-30) (vinylic, acrylic, methacrylic and polyurethane homopolymers and copolymers); a flatting agent (II) (2-7.5); a thickening agent (III) (0.01-1); an organic or mineral pigment (IV) (0.00005-0.2) and/or particles (of same nature that are used for the formation of the patina) and/or particles (that can give a similar appearance) to give the desired effect; and an additive (V) (0-0.75) (organic solvents and tensio-active agents) on dispersion in water. Independent claims are also included for: (1) aerosol or spray containing (A); (2) preparation of (A); and (3) use of (A) for the renovation of the color of a surface or uniformization of the appearance of the surface such as walls, painted walls, walls coated with wallpaper, ceilings, trims, fabrics or moquette by application using a brush if (A) is in the form of liquid or by pulverization if (A) is in aerosol form on a layer of the surface to achieve the desired tint.
