PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a linear actuator which can be driven by one side power supply and can assure a sufficient thrust even at the center of the linear actuator. SOLUTION: The linear actuator 11 includes a stator 12, a movable element 13 which has at least one iron member 30 and is provided reciprocatingly movably to the stator 12, at least one permanent magnets 14, 15, 16, 17 each having a pole opposing to the iron member 30 and perpendicularly to the reciprocating direction and provided along the reciprocating direction at the stator 12, a resetting means for making the movable element 13 reach a reference position of the reciprocating direction in a non-driving state, and a coil 18 provided at the stator 12. The permanent magnets 14, 15, 16 and 17 are constituted so that the magnetomotive forces of the reciprocating direction of the iron member become asymmetrical. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
