PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal and dictionary creating method in which a voice recognition dictionary can be easily and automatically created at the side of a hands-free apparatus connectable with a portable telephone set by radio. SOLUTION: There are provided: a hands-free apparatus 100 including a voice recognition section 120 which is comprised of software for performing voice recognition, a control section 110 including a memory cell comprising a voice recognition dictionary creating part 121 for creating a voice recognition dictionary 151, and a radio communication control section 130 for controlling a radio communication part 131 for radio communication with the outside; and a portable telephone set 200 which is connectable with the radio communication part 131 of the hands-free apparatus 100 by radio communication.
