PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing device and an image processing method capable of correcting image data so that the boundary of the overlap of images projected by a plurality of projectors does not become conspicuous, even if a shade plate is not installed in a correct position or a shade plate is not installed at all. SOLUTION: An image photographer 2 photographs a test image projected on an image display unit 3, and generates a photographed data. An image correction data calculator 14 specifies randomly a pixel having a signal value of 0 to the overlap of a plurality of images projected by a plurality of projectors equipped at the image display unit 3 based on the photographed data, and generates a pattern data indicative of the pixel having the signal value of 0.
