PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for reducing friction resistance which is increased during transition from a laminar flow boundary layer to a turbulent flow boundary layer by introducing small irregularities such as scales on the surface of a fishery body or a slight turbulence of surface passing flow such as in small feathers of birds for changing the laminar flow boundary layer into the turbulent flow boundary layer to prevent the separation of the boundary layer. SOLUTION: The separation of a fluid is caused by the loss of a flow rate on the surface of an object due to viscosity. This is why the separation is caused only at the rear part of a spherical or elliptical object whose front and rear parts have the same shape. A rotating cylindrical pulley is therefore installed at the rear part of a streamlined object for reducing the separation of the fluid. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
