PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an injection molding apparatus which can heat up an intracavity molding material by transmitting sufficient ultrasonic vibration to the molding material while inhibiting a load on a vibration transmission system to be brought to bear on the device under a simple configuration with a broad degree of design freedom, and an injection molding method. SOLUTION: In the injection molding apparatus, an insert mold 4 with a cavity 13 is provided in a main mold 3 and has one end of a vibration transmitting wire 6, connected with the mold 4 through a space 3a, while a vibration generating part which can generate an ultrasonic wave, is connected with the other end of the vibration transmitting wire 6. Thus the insert mold 4 is vibrated by the vibration generating part through the vibration transmitting wire 6. The vibration energy generated by the vibration generating part can be concentrically transmitted to the insert mold 4 which comes into contact with the molding material. In addition, in order to transmit the ultrasonic wave by the vibration transmitting wire 6 passing through the internal space 3a of the mold 3, it is possible to transmit the vibration easily and significantly scale down the vibration transmission system.
