METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONVERTING PICTURE TO CARICATURE IMAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and apparatus for converting a picture to a caricature image.

SOLUTION: A method for forming a caricature image from a digital image is provided. The method is started from fetching digital image data. The method includes specifying the position of a facial area in the fetched image data. A facial part template matched to a facial part in the facial area is selected. The facial part is substituted by the facial part template. The facial part template is converted to a caricature or specific realistic image. A computer-readable medium, an image fetching device capable of forming a caricature from a fetched image, and an integrated circuit are also provided.
