<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To arrange micro lenses at a high packing density by using a photomask 1 in which openings 1a are appropriately arranged. <P>SOLUTION: This method uses the photomask 1, in which the openings 1a each having a polygonal shape corresponding to the shape of the micro lenses 2 to be formed are arranged in a pattern corresponding to the closest arrangement pattern of the micro lenses 2. More specifically, the photomask 1 lined up with the openings 1a in the shape formed by individually rotating the micro lenses 2 of the closest-arranged polygonal shape (for example, a regular hexagon) by a prescribed angle (central angle 30°) is used. A photosetting resin on a glass substrate is irradiated with light apart a gap disposed between the same and the photomask 1.
