<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink comprising a pigment ink, having high edge sharpness of an image, having an enough large area factor, even when a small amount of droplets of the ink is used, having a high optical density, and capable of giving the image having high scuff resistance. <P>SOLUTION: This aqueous ink contains water, a plurality of water-soluble organic solvents of which the kinds are different from each other, and a plurality of water-insoluble coloring materials, so that the ink contains a first pigment and a second pigment in an aqueous medium in a dispersed state as the plurality of the water-insoluble coloring materials, wherein the first pigment comprises a self-dispersion type pigment, the second pigment comprises a polymer-dispersion type pigment, a water-soluble organic solvent which has a maximum Ka value determined by a Bristow procedure among the plurality of the water-soluble organic solvents is a poor solvent for the polymer-dispersion type pigment and is a good solvent for the self-dispersion type pigment, and a water-soluble organic solvent which is other than the water-soluble organic solvent having the maximum Ka value and is a good solvent for both of the polymer-dispersion type pigment and the self-dispersion type pigment is contained in the aqueous ink. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
