PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for correcting an error, based on wavelength characteristics of a plurality of light sources and a plurality of photoelectric transducer sensors, existing in color image data acquired by a scanner comprised of the light sources and the photoelectric transducer sensors. SOLUTION: The method of correcting color image data comprises the steps of: determining a relational expression for estimating light quantity values of respective light sources from measured light quantity values at the time of turning on all the light sources based on measured light quantity values acquired by respective photoelectric transducer sensors at the time of turning on a single light source; determining a correction expression for conversion into color image data wherein the error is suppressed, from color image data containing the error acquired by the photoelectric transducer sensors utilizing the relational expression; and correcting input color image data using the correction expression.
