ACOUSTIC LINER AND REMODELING METHOD FOR IMPROVING NOISE SIGNATURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an acoustic liner showing high acoustic admittance irrespective of presence of a cooling flow. SOLUTION: This cooled acoustic liner being useful in a duct for handling fluid includes a resonator chamber 52 having a neck part 56, a surface plate 86, and a coolant plenum 80 provided between the surface plate and the chamber. Coolant bypasses the resonator chamber rather than flowing through the resonator chamber. As a result, the coolant causes more satisfactory acoustic attenuation than in a liner in which coolant flows by passing through the resonator chamber and the neck part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
