PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent increase of ventilation resistance in an intake port and reinforce formation of tumble flow in a cylinder. SOLUTION: This intake port for an internal combustion engine is provided with an intake air passage 2 leading intake air into a combustion chamber of the internal combustion engine, valve support part 5, 6 provided on an upper wall surface near the combustion chamber of the intake air passage 2 projectingly in the intake air passage 2, an intake valve 3 penetrating through the valve support part 5, 6 and keeping and shutting off communication between the intake air passage 2 and the combustion chamber. The valve support part 6, 7 are provided with edge parts formed by a flat surface and a curved surface for exfoliating intake air flowing along the valve support parts 5, 6 from the valve support parts 6, 7.
