PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means to increase the utilization of a detergent as such in the detergent having nonfatty acid soap as the main detergent component. SOLUTION: An aqueous gel detergent comprises (1) 10-25 mass% polyoxyethylene adduct sulfate anionic surface active agent having an average molar number of the POE adduct of≤5 and (2) 8-20 mass% ampholytic surface active agent. The sulfate anionic surface active agent is preferably a salt of POE (2) lauryl sulfate, and the ampholytic surface active agent is preferably a betaine surface active agent and/or a imidazolium surface active agent.
