PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow some latitude in design of a front decorative plate in a variable prize device of a game machine, or shorten the distance from the game board surface to the back of the front decorative plate as compared with a conventional variable prize device. SOLUTION: This variable prize device includes: a body part 3 fitted to the game board 33 of the game machine 30; a front cover part 2 having the front decorative plate 6, which is provided on the front of the body part 3 and a pair of blade members 4a, 4b turnably mounted between the body part 3 and the front decorative plate 6, wherein the blade members 4a, 4b are turned to cause switching between the easily winning state and the hardly winning state of a game ball, thereby varying the winning easiness of the game ball. In the thus constructed variable prize device, regulating pieces 9a, 9b are provided on the back of the front decorative plate 6, the fronts of the blade members 4a, 4b are provided with regulating grooves 11a, 11b where the regulating pieces 9a, 9b engage, and the front regulating pieces 9a, 9b of the front decorative plate 6 abuts on the regulating grooves 11a, 11b of the blade members 4a, 4b to regulate the turning range of the blade members 4a, 4b.
