PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a headrest capable of stably holding the head of an occupant at the common use and a back collision of a vehicle. SOLUTION: A headrest backing 13 comprises a core material 19 consisting of a hard material and fixed onto an upper end of a stay 18. An expanded and elastic material 15 is provided on the periphery of the core material 19 and covered by a cover 14 to constitute the headrest 11. A protrusive part 19a and a recess 19b are formed on the front of the core material 19 in an upper position from a corresponding position of the back head Hb at the common use in a manner that the front of the core material 19 is made to project forward from the other part.
