PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a plate material having wrinkles of which the cross-sectional shape is a fractal curved line shape and largely contributing to the decontamination of rivers or the like. SOLUTION: After clay 24 is placed on a stretched rubber sheet 8, this rubber sheet 8 is shrunk up to the midway part thereof to form first wrinkles relatively small in undulation on the upper surface of the clay 24. Subsequently, the clay 24 is slightly dried and the rubber sheet 8 is further shrunk to form second wrinkles relatively large in undulation on the upper surface of the clay 24. Since the first wrinkles are left on the surfaces of the second wrinkles, a fractal curved line-like cross-sectional shape can be obtained. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
