<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely shut off supplying of power to a fixing heater using an AC power source, and to carry out appropriate overheating protection. <P>SOLUTION: In an image forming apparatus 10, rising of temperature by heating of fixing heater 26 is suppressed, by operating a fan by supplying DC voltage outputted from a power source circuit 24 as fan-driving voltage from a fan-driving circuit 36 to a fan motor 38. Furthermore, the fixing heater is activated, by supplying AC power through a relay 40, in which no action error or an action fault occurs receiving influence from the noise, etc., of commercial power source. With this relay, power supply to the fixing heater is surely shut off, by closing a contact by turning on the fan driving voltage and opening the contact by stopping the fan by turning off the fan-driving voltage in a sleeping mode or due to temperature rise. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
