<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce HC emission quantity by quickening temperature rise of a catalyst at a time of cold start. <P>SOLUTION: In a control device for an engine provided with the catalyst 9 in an exhaust gas passage and controlling rotation speed of the engine to get target rotation speed at a time of fast idling under the engine cold condition by making the target rotation speed of the engine at the time of fast idling under the engine cold condition higher that after completion of engine warming up, a misfire detection means 33, 34 detecting misfire, a misfire rate calculation means 31 calculating misfire rate by signal from the misfire detection means 33, 34, and the target rotation speed set means 31 setting the target rotation speed at the time of fast idling under the engine cold condition according to the misfire rate are provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
