PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video recording/reproducing device capable of easily confirming a recording operator of video together with the recorded video. SOLUTION: A user starts the recording by operating a user identification key when video is recorded. A video recorder/reproducer 3 records user identification data and digital video data in the video recording region of a hard disc 30 on the basis of user identification information. When the user executes reproducing operation at the time of reproducing the video, the video recorder/reproducer 3 outputs the video data to a video output part 4 after outputting the identification image data of the user to the video output part 4 for a prescribed period of time by reading out them from a memory 11 or a user identification image recording region of the hard disc 30 on the basis of the recorded user identification data.
