PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current detector capable of outputting detection current values accurately corrected at all times even if an ambient temperature changes. SOLUTION: The current detector is provided with an On-voltage detecting circuit 14 for detecting an On-voltage 2 of a semiconductor switching element constituting an arm of a power converter 1; an On polarity change detecting circuit 3 for outputting a polarity change detection signal 9 which rises at the inversion timing of the current polarity of an AC current to be detected on the basis of polarity changes of the On-voltage 2; a sample-and-hold circuit 6 for inputting the polarity change detection signal 9 and a current value output signal 5 and outputting a current 0A value 7; and a control unit 8 for correcting the current value output signal 5 by the current 0A value 7.
