PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medicinal composition which contains an anion exchange resin as an active ingredient, can be taken with a reduced feeling of roughness of water-swollen resin, and gives suppressed uncomfortableness, unpleasantness, and a feeling of remaining on and after taking and swallowing due to its adhesion to the mucous membrane of the oral cavity or of the esophagus. SOLUTION: The medicinal composition containing the anion exchange resin is one which comprises a suppressant for water absorption swelling of the anion exchange resin (e.g. at least one substance selected from the group consisting of a thickener, a gelling agent, a salt, and a saccharide), gives a suppressed feeling of roughness of a water-swollen anion exchange resin in the oral cavity, and/or gives suppressed adhesion to the mucous membrane of the oral cavity, and gives an improved feeling of taking.
