PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method which is applicable to conventional various sintered aluminum alloys, and further improves the strength of the alloy. SOLUTION: The subject powder mixture comprises: an alloy powder or mixed powder each containing Al as the main component; and a sintering aid powder in an amount of 0.01-0.5 mass%, made of at least one powder out of eutectic alloy powders and having such a composition as to contain mainly Sn and form a eutectic alloy between Sn and another element, or between Sn and an intermetallic compound with another element, or made of at least one powder out of monotectic alloy powders and having such a composition as to form the eutectic liquid phase of Sn through a eutectic reaction.
